Open Burning Regulations

Open burning is the single greatest cause of wildfires in New York State.  The DEC regulations state that open burning is prohibited From March 15 through May 15.  To report environmental law violations, call the DEC's 24 hour hotline, 1-800-TIPP DEC.  Callers may remain anonymous.
