Volunteers Needed Oct 19-- Roadside Pollinator Planting Project

-A A +A

Volunteers Needed for Make A Difference Day!

On Saturday, October 19, the Town of New Paltz, in conjunction with Liz Elkin of Bloom Fine Gardening, will be hosting a volunteer planting day to begin the first step of the Town's Roadside Pollinator Planting project-- replacing grassy areas adjacent to the Empire State Trail with wildflower seed. This project will benefit the community environmentally by creating new habitat for pollinators and reducing emissions caused by unnecessary mowing, as well improving the landscape aesthetics. Can you help? We will be meeting at the Memorial Park in Ohioville (at the intersection of Old Rt. 299 and N Ohioville Rd., in front of Los Agaves) at 10 am and working until 2:30 pm. Bring sunscreen, water, and tools (scuffle hoes, pick axes, shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes) if you have them-- and plan to get dirty! No experience necessary.
