The New Paltz Police Department reports the arrest of;

Thomas S. Rusinko, age 18
Brooklyn, New York
&
Kathryn E. Anderson, age 18
Massapequa Park, New York

Both Rusinko and Anderson were arrested on 02/20/18 at 5:09 pm and charged as follows;
• Fifteen counts of Making Graffiti, a class A Misdemeanor

At approximately 11:30pm on February 10, 2018, New Paltz Police officers on foot patrol on lower Main Street were approached by a business owner who reported that the exterior of his business had just been spray painted. The officers initiated an investigation and over the course of the next several days the police department received additional complaints from businesses in the Town and Village reporting graffiti.

Police were able to obtain video surveillance from a few of the businesses and developed two suspects and additional leads. On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, the police department received a call reporting two people were possibly spray painting a wall near Wurtz Avenue. Officers responded to the area and located Mr. Rusinko and Ms. Anderson, who matched the images of the suspects on the video surveillance obtained by police.

Ms. Anderson and Mr. Rusinko were interviewed, taken into custody and transported back to the New Paltz Police Department. Both were released on an appearance ticket to return to New Paltz Court on February 22, 2018 before Town Justice James Bacon.

The New Paltz Police Department was assisted by SUNY New Paltz Police.
