Town & County Property Taxes

Due to COVID-19 the Town of New Paltz will be limiting payment options for the 2024 tax collection season. We will not be accepting cash payments or payments made in person. You can mail in your payment or drop it in the secure Dropbox on the outside of Town Hall.  To make a payment by credit card, click here to download the credit card authorization form. All credit card payments will be subject to a 2.65% transaction fee.Bills will be mailed out on December 29th. Please call 845-255-0100 with any questions. We apologize for the inconvenience but thank you for your cooperation and understanding. 

Bills are sent out for January 1st, due by January 31st without penalty. After January, a 1% penalty is assessed each month until June 1st.  Payment options include 1 full payment or 2 half payments only. Payments can be made in person at the Town Clerk’s office or by mail (postmark accepted). After June 1st, any unpaid taxes are turned over to the Ulster County Department of Finance. Copies of tax bills and receipts available upon request. The Town Clerk does not collect School Taxes. School Tax information can be obtained through the School District, (845) 256-4017.
