Application Submission Process

Applications will only be accepted until 4pm Monday-Friday

Applications will not be accepted by the Building Department unless accompanied by ALL necessary documentation, including required Workman's Compensation and Disability Insurance.

Applications cannot be accepted electronically and must accompany the application fee.

Once an application is received, if required, a Pre-permit inspection will be scheduled at this time.  If a pre-permit inspection cannot be scheduled with the applicant, it is the applicant's responsibility to contact the building department to schedule it.  The application will not go into review until this inspection is completed.  If this inspection is not scheduled within 30 days of receipt of the application, the application will be denied.  A new application and payment of fees will be required. 

If an application is not complete enough for review and approval, the applicant will be notified of the deficiencies.  If the applicant does not respond to the request for additional information within 30 days of being notified, the application will be denied.

Once the application is reviewed and approved, the applicant will be notified that the permit is ready for approval and the total amount due for the building permit.  A building permit will not be issued until the fee is paid.  Fees may be paid in person via, cash, check or credit card(additional fees may apply).

One set of plans/specifications (of the two submitted with the application) will be returned, stamped and signed by the Code Enforcement Officer, which is to be kept on the premises until the project completion.  The Building Permit (pink card) will be provided for display on the property to be visible from the street.

All work must begin within 6 months of issuance of the building permit or the permit will be null and void.  A new application and payment of new fees will be required.

If a building permit is not paid for within 30 days of notification that it is ready, the application will be denied for lack of payment.  A new application and payment of new fees will be required.
