Remote Tutoring available through the New Paltz Youth Program: A message from Director Jim Tinger

npyp tutoring info

Hello Everyone,

The New Paltz Youth Program has been operating a tutoring program for the past 26 years in both the Middle School and after school at the Youth Center. We have contacted our professional tutors and have gathered a list of those that would like to continue tutoring young people. Of course, times being as they are, we will now be doing this remotely.  We can adapt to whatever the needs are and whichever method is preferred, whether it be FaceTime, Zoom, Google Hangout or something else. This can be worked out.

We understand that the schools will be unveiling their strategy for distance learning soon, with a plan to begin on March 30th. The needs of families will probably become clearer at that time. I have emailed all of the parents we work with and have begun matching their children with tutors. Typically we work with middle school and high school students but will expand that to all ages.

The flier is below and includes our contact information. We will compile a list that will include family needs and times available and match them up with an appropriate tutor. As always, this is a free service. Call 845-255-5410 or email newpaltzyp@gmail.com with any questions or to set up a tutor.

Hope you are all managing well and we look forward to helping the community in any way we can. Be well.
