Information Regarding the Current Water and Sewer Billing

Dear Residents:

Recently, The Town and Village undertook a major project in an effort to reconstruct the metering process for water and sewer services within the Town and Village. Due to outdated meters and non-functional equipment, resulting in erroneous and estimated readings, many of you have been receiving bills that did not reflect the actual usage amounts. With the installation of the new meters, the Water and Sewer departments were able to bring these accounts up to date by determining exactly how much water had been used during the previous billing cycles.

This has resulted in some very large and unexpected retroactive bills, in turn causing some understandable concern and anger from our taxpayers. The town regrets this unfortunate development and we are willing to create agreeable payment plans for those who are not able to pay their adjusted bill in its entirety.
