Town of New Paltz Environmental Conservation Board
Minutes of the Meeting of February 1, 2023
7:30 pm
Town of New Paltz Community Center

 

Present: Rich Whitney, Robert Ferri, Kenji Tierney, Ted Nitza

Rich called the meeting to order at 7:31pm

  1. Ted moved, Rob seconds motion to approve the minutes of January 4, 2022 as written.  All in favor. Motion passed.
  2. Ted will attend February 13,2023 Planning Board meeting and Rich will attend February 27, 2023 planning board meeting.
  3. Rob gave update on January 9th Planning Board meeting.
  4. Rob moved and Kenji seconds motion to draft letter listing environmental attributes of proposed site for the Ulster County Emergency Response Center to be read at February 16, 2023 Public Hearing. All in favor. Motion passed.
  5. Ted gave update on Village EPB
    1.  Board is down to 3 members, looking to fill seats
    2. New Firehouse exploring solar panels
    3. Landfill project continues to be snafued by Central Hudson interconnection fee
    4. Village actively working to maintain and restore storm water infrastructure
    5. Old Agway building new site plan is for a three story mixed use “H” shaped building
    6. Dubois bike lane (Empire State Trail) DOT approved, now waiting on Stewarts easement language
  6. Ulster County Environmental Management Council
             a. Meeting canceled due to inclement weather
  7. EnCB discussed the open Recording Secretary position, Ted stated he might know an interested party.
  8. Climate Smart

  9. Ted moved and Rob seconds to adjourn.  All in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 8:10pm.
