Kingston man charged with DWI

The New Paltz Police Department reports the arrest of:

Eric P. Henn, age 28
Kingston, New York 12401

Mr. Henn was arrested on July 27, 2017 at about 11:57pm and charged as follows;

• One count DWI, a class A Misdemeanor
• One count Per Se DWI, a class A Misdemeanor
• Littering
• Other Vehicle and Traffic Infractions

On July 27, 2017 at about 11:30pm New Paltz Police received a report from an off duty New Paltz Police Officer that an intoxicated male was smashing glass bottles in the parking lot of a local gas station in the Town of New Paltz. Upon Officers arrival they observed Eric Henn sitting in the driver seat of his vehicle. Mr. Henn showed signs of impairment and was subsequently asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests.

Based on the officer’s observations and Mr. Henn’s performance on the field sobriety tests, he was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated. When Mr. Henn was taken into custody, he was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol in his pants pocket.

Mr. Henn was processed at the New Paltz Police Department and released to a relative. He is to appear in the Town of New Paltz Court on August 15, 2017 at 5:30pm.
