Safety Reminders While Driving in Work Zones

  1. DO NOT follow town trucks too closely.  Keep a safe distance behind any large vehicle.  If you cannot see their mirrors, remember, they cannot see you.
  2. Drive safely in work zones; expect the unexpected, slow down, don’t tailgate, keep your distance, pay attention to signs and obey road crew flaggers, stay alert, keep up with the flow of traffic, expect delays and be patient and stay calm.  The road crews know what is best for moving traffic safely in a work zone.  A flagger has the same authority as a regulatory sign and you can be cited for disobeying his/her directions.
  3. “SLOW DOWN, MOVE OVER, IT’S NOW THE LAW”
