The Town of New Paltz’s Office for Community Wellness (OCW) in collaboration with the New Paltz Youth Program and the Ulster Prevention Council, is announcing its 3rd Annual Holiday Hoopla Parade taking place at noon on Saturday, December 10th, with a rain/snow date of Sunday, December 11th. The parade will depart from the New Paltz Middle School parking lot (196 Main Street) and process down Main Street to Hasbrouck Park, located at 15 Mohonk Avenue in New Paltz.

Holiday Hoopla is a fun, family-oriented event designed to bring good cheer, come together in community, and provide valuable information and support to community members who may be experiencing different life challenges. This year’s parade will include several floats, Clydesdale horses, music, the “Candy Cane Crew,” Santa and his polar bear buddy, and more!

A fun-filled winter carnival kicks off with emcee DJ Jay Smooth at Hasbrouck Park immediately following the parade and ends at 3PM. The carnival will include outdoor games and activities, bounce house, photo booth with Santa and his polar bear buddy, karaoke, live performances by the Jim Decker Band, Hula Hoopers for Humanity, local youth from the New Paltz Middle School and New Paltz High School, and David Chapman Music. In addition, there will food available for purchase from a sampling of Hudson Valley food trucks and businesses.

The church hall at nearby St. Joseph’s Church will serve as a warming station and offer visitors free hot chocolate, coffee, assorted snacks, and children’s arts & crafts station from 1PM – 3PM.
