Tuesday, June 30th: THE POOL IS OPEN!

We will open at 12:00 today to the public

Hours: 12:00 - 7:30 thru August 15; 12:00 - 7:00 August 16 - 31

TO: Moriello Pool Patrons & those Purchasing a Membership

Because of COVID-19 Moriello Pool is open under a very different set of guidelines than in other years. While we are very happy that we are able to open to the public, we want everyone to understand that the rules & procedures for operating are not only different than in previous years, but may have to be modified & changed after the pool opens to the public - and after you have already purchased a membership. Our capacity has been greatly reduced compared to previous years. With fewer public pools open this year we are expecting more demand on Moriello Pool this summer. This was a major point of discussion & concern when making the decision whether to open Moriello Pool at all this year. There is always a significant increase in the number of people coming to Moriello Pool when the UC Pool is closed for events. We expect at least some patrons who normally visit other public pools on a regular basis will now come or seek to come to Moriello Pool, at least for this year, on a regular basis - especially when the temperature and/or humidity is high.

While we do not plan on admitting patrons who are not residents of the Town or Village of New Paltz for daily admission this season we will admit New Paltz residents on a daily admission basis. New Paltz & (at this time) non-New Paltz residents will also be able to purchase family or single memberships. (Only NP residents can purchase Senior memberships) Please be aware that purchasing a membership does not provide any privilege when it comes to entering the facility if we are at capacity. If we reach maximum capacity, or less if deemed necessary by social distancing concerns &/or requirements, we will only allow additional patrons into the facility as other patrons exit for the day & the capacity inside the pool area is safe enough to do so. Additional patrons entering the pool will be on a “first come, first serve” basis. In other words, purchasing a membership will not allow you to “skip the line”, etc. As we move forward, in order to manage the demand for use of the pool by the public, Moriello Pool may have to modify its rules & procedures including, but not limited to:

• Stopping the additional sale of memberships for non-residents

• Stopping the ability to pay the daily admission fee even for New Paltz residents

• Stopping the additional sale of memberships to New Paltz residents

• Modifying public swim hours in such a way as to allow more patrons to use & enjoy Moriello Pool. - Such changes or modifications may include, but are not limited to: - A staggered or split schedule. For example: - Anyone who arrives between 12:00 - 3:00 pm must leave by 3:30. - We will then allow the other patrons to enter the facility at 4:00 - Close ➔ These are only a few of the possible modification or changes that may be made if necessary. Thank you for your understanding.
