Ulster County Problem Areas Survey - Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP)

Ulster County is updating its hazard mitigation plan (HMP).

The HMP analyzes the hazards that impact our communities, evaluates our capabilities to reduce vulnerability to those hazards, and lays out our strategy for mitigating that vulnerability. Our consultant, Tetra Tech, has been analyzing the hazards that we discussed at our kickoff meeting back in February, and has almost completed the analysis.

To make sure that all of the areas that are vulnerable to hazards in the county are addressed in the HMP, we have developed a simple online survey tool for you to fill out.
Please visit the survey here (Ulster County Problem Areas Survey (arcgis.com) and let us know where hazards impact your community. The survey gives you an opportunity to drop a pin on a map and provide some details about how hazards impact that location (such as a culvert gets overwhelmed, the streambank is eroding, the location is a hotspot for traffic accidents, etc.). Please complete the survey by Friday, May 26 to identify any particular problems to be addressed in the plan.
