Ulster County Overdose Alert

There has been a sudden increase in overdose fatalities in Ulster County that is being attributed to fentanyl. The county has created the attached social media alerts/informational images to be distributed widely.

We have seen a dramatic decrease in overdose fatalities in Ulster County in 2022 (by approximately 50%), so this sudden spike is cause for this alert and important reminder as to how members of the community can obtain free naloxone (Narcan) and fentanyl test strips. The Office for Community Wellness and the New Paltz Opioid Overdose Prevention & Response Team are here to help.

Free Narcan kits and harm reduction kits that include fentanyl test strips are available at the Open-Air Market in New Paltz every Saturday from 10am-1pm rain or shine.

Additionally, Free Narcan training and kits are also available 24/7/365 via our website for anyone residing within the Mid-Hudson region: https://opioidpreventionnp.org
