Annual Clean Sweep and Textile Collection
Volunteers for the Annual Clean Sweep event should report to St. Joseph Church on Hasbrouck Avenue in New Paltz on April 30th at 8:30 am to be signed in and receive a tee shirt, gloves and garbage bags. Volunteers are also provided with breakfast snacks.
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and Town of New Paltz invite you to Donate, Recycle, Don’t Throw Away
WHY? New York State residents trash over 1.4 BILLION POUNDS of clothes and textiles annually, with a market value exceeding $200 million, plus another $36 million in costs to dispose of these recoverable materials. When you donate or recycle clothing, your green efforts help the environment and everyone saves money.
WHAT? ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: all types of used clothing, footwear & household textiles. Items such as: shirts, pants, sheets, curtains, handbags, belts, and footwear. Any textile, even if it’s worn, torn or stained can be recycled, as long as it’s clean and dry!
NON-ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: NO carpets, rugs, mattresses, bric-brac, oil rags, wet or mildewed items.
