Present: Jim DeLaune, Ingrid Haeckel, Cara Lee (by phone), Peter Ferrante, Neil Bettez, John Gotto, Michael Domitrovits (by phone)
Absent: John Orfitelli

  1. Call to Order - Cara called the meeting to order at 7:05.
  2. Minutes - Jim moved, Peter F. 2nd to approve the January minutes as written. All in favor.
  3. RETT Report - Reviewed
  4. Report on County Agricultural Appropriation - Jim DeLaune reported that the Ulster County Farm Appropriation (Resolution 400) proposing $1.4 million for Ulster County farms to include funding for a new Agriculture Program Manager (2-year position), direct grants to farmers, $250,000 for conservation easements and stewardship was adopted by the Legislature in February. Funding expected to support preparation of applications for federal grants. Fund will be overseen by legislature, Executive and Ulster County Soil and Water.
  5. Review of Properties of Interest 
    • Libolt – no contact this month
    • Toscani – no contact this month
    • Scharf donation – application complete, property will need subdivision or lot line revision with Town property to the south. Town is revising lot line law to simplify.
    • Karl – Landowner not satisfied with appraisal and is not moving forward
    • Heyer Farm – Ongoing conversation with landowner
    • Dodd Farm – Research underway in advance of approaching landowner. Property not on market.
    • Big Woods – Landowner interested in selling. Not satisfied with appraisal
    • Storch – 90-acre parcel on Mountain Rest – research needed
    • Two Sisters – smaller parcel on Mountain Rest – research needed
    • Ohioville Horse Farm – research needed.
  6. Landowner Contact Spreadsheet – will be maintained on Google Drive as read-only for Board, maintained by one or two people
  7. Anne Oliver House, 5 Broadhead St. – Discussed possible ways to support historic preservation through easements
  8. Logo – Reviewed Matt Maley’s revised logo. Everyone had the same preference (#2) but it was agreed to reduce size of Skytop Tower and to add a Wallkill River element.
